For complete peace of mind, we strongly recommend arranging comprehensive travel insurance before your departure. Your policy should include appropriate cover for medical expenses, trip cancellation or interruption, baggage loss or delay, and other unforeseen travel emergencies. Many premium credit cards provide complimentary travel insurance when the journey is purchased using the card. As coverage and benefits vary, we recommend confirming the details directly with your bank or card provider before travelling.

Please ensure you carry your travel insurance policy details and emergency contact information throughout your journey.

We look forward to welcoming you to Egypt and wish you an unforgettable journey filled with remarkable moments and lasting memories.

We understand that travel plans may occasionally change. As many elements of your journey are reserved well in advance with our carefully selected partners, the following cancellation policy applies. Cancellation charges are calculated from the date written notice is received by The Amber Journeys. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation protection, as this may assist in recovering eligible non-refundable travel costs.

- 120 days or more: US$500 administration fee
- 119–91 days: 25-50% of the total journey price, depending on confirmed supplier commitments at the time of cancellation.
- 90-61 days: 75% of the total journey price
- 60 days or less: 100% of the total journey price, plus any additional land arrangements

Our team will always endeavor to accommodate reasonable booking changes whenever possible. Please contact your Travel Specialist, who will be pleased to discuss the available options before cancellation becomes necessary.

By confirming your reservation with The Amber Journeys, you agree to the following general booking conditions. Pricing All prices are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise stated and are based on the costs, taxes, exchange rates, and supplier charges applicable at the time of publication. Prices may be revised should significant changes occur before your booking is confirmed. Reservations & Services Your booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received. From that moment, we begin securing hotels, transportation, guides, and other travel arrangements on your behalf to ensure every detail of your journey is carefully prepared. Itinerary Every effort is made to operate the itinerary exactly as published. Occasionally, adjustments may become necessary due to weather, operational requirements, government regulations, or circumstances beyond our control. Where possible, equivalent services of a similar standard will always be provided. Hotels & Transportation Hotels, Nile cruise vessels, domestic flights, and transportation services are carefully selected to maintain the quality of your experience. In exceptional circumstances, substitutions of an equivalent standard may be necessary.

A valid passport is required for all international travel and should remain valid for at least six months beyond your return date, unless otherwise advised by your country of citizenship. Passport details are required at the time of booking to facilitate hotel reservations, domestic flights, and other travel arrangements. Visa requirements vary according to your nationality and destination. Where visa services are included as part of your journey, your Travel Specialist will guide you through the process and provide all necessary information before departure. Guests travelling on passports issued by countries other than those specified in their booking confirmation are kindly advised to verify entry requirements with the relevant embassy or consulate. We recommend carrying both printed and digital copies of your passport, travel documents, and visa confirmations. Keeping an additional copy with a trusted family member or securely stored online can also be helpful should your documents be lost or misplaced during your travels. For a seamless travel experience, we also recommend travelling with a smartphone capable of receiving emails or displaying digital travel documents, QR codes, and boarding passes where required. Travelling with children may require additional documentation depending on your destination and the child's nationality. If you are travelling as a parent or legal guardian, we recommend verifying all entry requirements with the relevant authorities before departure.

Your wellbeing is our priority throughout your journey. Complimentary bottled drinking water will be provided during sightseeing, and we recommend drinking only bottled water throughout your stay in Egypt. If you have any medical conditions, mobility considerations, or require special assistance, please inform your Travel Specialist before departure so appropriate arrangements can be made whenever possible. Should you have specific dietary requirements or food allergies, kindly advise us at the time of booking. While every effort will be made to accommodate your requests; availability may vary depending on local restaurants and suppliers. For your comfort, we recommend staying well hydrated and avoiding sudden temperature changes, particularly during the warmer months. Please note that access to certain archaeological sites, boats, and historic monuments may involve uneven terrain, steps, or limited accessibility for guests with reduced mobility. As a local regulation, binoculars are not permitted in Egypt and should not be packed in either carry-on or checked luggage. We also recommend confirming international medical coverage with your insurance provider before departure.

Local Customs
When visiting mosques and religious sites, modest clothing is recommended. Women should carry a light scarf to cover their hair where required, and shoes must be removed before entering. Swimwear is perfectly acceptable at hotels, resorts, and aboard your Nile cruise. During the cooler winter months (November to February), we recommend bringing a light jacket or warmer clothing for the evenings. Smart casual attire is appropriate for dinners throughout your journey.

Currency & Payments
The Egyptian Pound (EGP) is the local currency. ATMs are widely available in major cities and hotels, while Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger shops. US Dollars and Euros are commonly accepted in many tourist areas, although local currency is recommended for smaller purchases.

Electricity
Egypt operates on 220V / 50Hz using standard European two-pin sockets (Type C & F). We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter if required.

Nile Cruise Information
Cruising schedules are determined by Nile navigation authorities and may occasionally change due to operational or seasonal conditions. Cruise vessels of a similar standard may be substituted when necessary. Please note that Nile cruise boats are often moored alongside one another, and boarding may occasionally require passing through neighbouring vessels. Cabin check-in is generally available from 12:00 PM, with check-out by 8:00 AM on your departure day.

Photography
Photography is welcomed at most sites; however, certain museums, temples, and tombs may restrict photography or require an additional photography permit. Flash photography is prohibited in many historic locations to help preserve these remarkable monuments.

Meals
Your itinerary includes a carefully selected variety of local and international cuisine. On certain travel days, meal arrangements may be adjusted to accommodate flight schedules. For your comfort, we recommend dining at the hotels and carefully selected restaurants included throughout your journey.

Domestic Flights
Domestic flight schedules within Egypt are subject to operational changes and may occasionally require early morning or evening departures. Should any adjustments be necessary, your Travel Specialist or Tour Manager will keep you fully informed throughout your journey.

Tipping
Tipping is a long-established custom in Egypt and is always appreciated as a gesture of gratitude for excellent service, although it remains entirely at your discretion. For your convenience, gratuities may be prepaid before arrival or offered directly to your guides, drivers, and service staff during your journey.

Cruise Operations
For navigational or operational reasons, the sequence of sightseeing during your Nile cruise may occasionally be adjusted while ensuring all scheduled visits remain included.

Pricing
While every effort is made to maintain published prices, government entrance fees, local taxes, fuel surcharges, and other operational costs may occasionally change. Should any adjustments become necessary, you will be advised before your journey begins.

To ensure a smooth journey throughout Egypt, please note the following domestic flight baggage guidelines: Checked baggage: 23 kg (50 lbs) per person. Carry-on baggage: Up to 7 kg (15 lbs) per person. Carry-on suitcases fitted with non-removable lithium batteries are not permitted on domestic flights within Egypt. Where batteries are removable, they must be removed and carried separately in your hand luggage. Additional baggage may be accepted by the airline subject to availability and applicable excess baggage charges.

Egypt is a year-round destination, with the most comfortable weather typically experienced from October to April. During the summer months (May to September), temperatures are considerably warmer, although the climate remains dry. We recommend lightweight clothing for daytime sightseeing, together with a light jacket or warmer layer for cooler evenings during the winter months. Comfortable walking shoes and modest attire are advised when visiting religious sites.
